Episode 12 – What Did You Expect? – Lullaby: What Did You Expect?
Have you ever taken a haircut into your own hands? Fortunately for us, sometimes our stupid decisions don’t have long-lasting consequences. Do you have a stupid or crazy haircut story (or even a PHOTO) you’d like to share with us? Include it here in the Comments section. We can have a chuckle at your expense knowing your hair has since been restored by a professional hair stylist. 🙂
Leanne & gogo doggie
This is go go doggie. He was my blankie as long as I can remember. As you can see I wore his mouth and nose off with love. I squeezed the little marbles out of his ears and his fur is not as soft as it used to be. I loved my go go dog and still do. I am thankful for the comfort he brought me as a child.
Lullaby by Carrie “The Blankie”
If you begged your child to do a task meant for adults
What did you expect?
If you wished beyond all reason and are shocked by the results
What did you expect?
We’re so funny – And we can’t stay mad
Just be thankful – It will grow back

I can definitely relate to putting a lot of importance on my haircut! I used to have very long hair, and refused to cut more than half an inch at a time (despite having about a foot of hair that needed to GO). My sister is much less sentimental about these things.
One day my sister wanted a haircut and she felt my mom was qualified to cut her hair. She requested layers, but my mom thought that was too difficult and just trimmed the ends. My sister was pleased, and sent my mom home. As soon as we were alone, she turned to me and said, “You’re doing the layers.”
Of course I had no idea how to do this, and was very hesitant. She insisted I’d seen hairdressers do it before – I’d figure it out. To thank me, apparently she was going to cut MY hair, too. Somehow this did not make me feel any better.
I cried while I cut her hair AND while she cut mine. She was not perturbed. Even when I messed up her layers in one spot, she encouraged me. After all, what did she expect? She was so chill that I let her cut MULTIPLE inches off my hair. A couple of weeks later, I allowed a new hairdresser (now my most trusted local professional) to cut the rest of the yucky hair off. My hair has not returned to its former length or yuckiness.
Thank you so much for sharing your hilarious memories that reminded me of mine!

Thank you Alaina J for sharing your story. Ha! I’m glad the two of you had better outcomes and that your hair is now yucky-free!
